"Trekking in "Puente del Inca, Penitentes and half day in Aconcagua Provincial Park"
The Andes Mountain Range, Mendoza / Argentina
"We share an adventure full of emotions with expeditions from all over the world which try to conquer the summit of the highest mountain of the American Continent".

Aconcagua Provincial Park
The Aconcagua is the highest peak in the Andes, with 6,962 meters above sea level. This mountain is the principal reason for the existence of the Aconcagua Park, one of the most spectacular protected areas of Argentina. It has 71,000 hectares and is entirely in Argentina, Province of Mendoza. It is not an international border.

Puente del Inca:
It is 175 km away from the city of Mendoza, on the international route n°7. "Puente del Inca" or Inca´s Bridge is a natural formation (a brigde) over Cuevas River.
There are thermal springs that flow at 35°, which have acquired worldwide prestige since the thermal baths have curative properties for skin infectious diseases.
The ruins of an ancient hotel remain near the bridge; it operated as a thermal resort last century.

Itinerary:

Day 1:
Transport from Mendoza to Penitentes at 07:30 hs. After traveling 3hs and a half through the Andean road we arrive in Penitentes. It is 2,650mts a.s.l. and 8km from "Puente del Inca".
Generally, we make a walk around the area on the first day; we climb the hillside of Penitentes hill towards a viewpoint from where you can contemplate the majestic Aconcagua.
The difficulty of this trekking varies depending on the members of the group. It can be gentle and slow or something more demanding. We walk 3 or 6 hs approx (including the breaks).
We come back to a shelter; there are beds with mattresses, and bedclothes with blankets, hot water and a small restaurant where breakfast and dinner are prepared by a cook.

Day 2: Transport to Puente del Inca by bus in the morning. After visiting the bridge we start trekking in the Aconcagua Park, walking near Horcones River Gully. From there, we will be able to watch the imposing south face of the Aconcagua, depending on the weather.
The guide and the members of the group will decide the duration of the trek.
In the evening we return to Penitentes and come back to Mendoza.

Difficulty:
the activities of the trekking in high mountain depend on your physical conditions. After the guide tests the members of the group, three important things are decided: the duration of the walk, the path, and the degree of the technical difficulties the group will be able to deal with.

Winter:
The trekking is the same than in any other season, the only difference is that you need snowshoes. You can rent them in the city of Mendoza.
